Romans Chapter 3 1-8

Romans 3:1-8

God’s Faithfulness

1 What advantage, then, is there in being a Jew, or what value is there in circumcision? 2 Much in every way! First of all, they have been entrusted with the very words of God.

Paul is saying that God has a special plan for the Jews one of these was they were entrusted with the word of God.

3 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness. 4 Not at all! Let God be true, and every man a liar. As it is written:
“So that you may be proved right when you speak
and prevail when you judge.”

God will remain faithful even if some of the Jews did not remain faithful. Any man that questions this is a liar and will be judged by God accordingly. God stands firm on what he has said. “He is a man of his word.” Thank you God!

5 But if our unrighteousness brings out God’s righteousness more clearly, what shall we say? That God is unjust in bringing his wrath on us? (I am using a human argument.) 6 Certainly not! If that were so, how could God judge the world? 7 Someone might argue, “If my falsehood enhances God’s truthfulness and so increases his glory, why am I still condemned as a sinner?” 8 Why not say—as we are being slanderously reported as saying and as some claim that we say—”Let us do evil that good may result”? Their condemnation is deserved.

Paul is trying to head off a debate here about justifying yourself to continue to be unfaithful. The argument is if all of my wrong doing increases God’s truthfulness then I should do more wrong to glorify God more. Paul says this is a slanderous argument and God will judge you accordingly no matter what kind of excuse you make.

This weeks scripture to me speaks to how big God really is. He is faithful even to the unfaithful and a fair and just judge at the same time. Also I can not come with any kind excuse to escape Gods judgment. Excuses aren’t going to matter before God.

Talking about and discussing God’s word is how we learn and understand. I’m open to any kind of discussion you would like to have about this topic. Have a great day!

Here’s a good reason to follow Apple at WWDC.

Here’s a quote from an article over at AppleInsider.

One of the biggest revelations at WWDC was quietly unveiled in a session on Friday morning entitled “Building Native Look-and-Feel Web Applications Using SproutCore.” While Apple maintained high security during the entire NDA-sealed WWDC session, the secret of SproutCore is out because it is an open source project and people can’t stop talking about it.

I really like the idea of not being tied to a proprietary platform like Flash when developing web applications. This falls in line with my distaste for Apple in general. But when I see companies like Apple utilize open source technologies I get excited. Here is the framework Apple is using for development of web centric applications. SproutCore, Looks like the site seems to be down today they must be experiencing the digg effect.

Saturday’s Project.

I’m in the process of building a 12′x16′ shed in my backyard. It has been framed and a tin roof put on. My goal today is to get the siding on. I’m currently waiting on the Hardi board to get delivered.

Update, I’m done for the day.  My wife and I were able to get two sides half way done.  She is such an asset to have around.  Not bad for a couple of rookies.  Notice the straight and level lines.

Intelligent Christians

Why is Christianity associated with unintelligent followers? Why does this guy think when someone gains knowledge they become a Atheist?
Intelligent people ‘less likely to believe in God’

Friday the 13th!

It’s Friday the 13th and my kids are away at summer camp. Should I be concerned? I’m not really because the camps they’re at is not full of young actors that are running around in the dark looking for trouble.

Isn’t it crazy the things that cross your mind from watching too many movies and TV shows.

How are things?

“A man had an apple tree planted in his front yard. He came to it expecting to find apples, but there weren’t any. He said to his gardener, ‘What’s going on here? For three years now I’ve come to this tree expecting apples and not one apple have I found. Chop it down! Why waste good ground with it any longer?”

“The gardener said, ‘Let’s give it another year. I’ll dig around it and fertilize, and maybe it will produce next year; if it doesn’t, then chop it down.’”
