Friday the 13th!
It’s Friday the 13th and my kids are away at summer camp. Should I be concerned? I’m not really because the camps they’re at is not full of young actors that are running around in the dark looking for trouble.
Isn’t it crazy the things that cross your mind from watching too many movies and TV shows.
How are things?
“A man had an apple tree planted in his front yard. He came to it expecting to find apples, but there weren’t any. He said to his gardener, ‘What’s going on here? For three years now I’ve come to this tree expecting apples and not one apple have I found. Chop it down! Why waste good ground with it any longer?”
“The gardener said, ‘Let’s give it another year. I’ll dig around it and fertilize, and maybe it will produce next year; if it doesn’t, then chop it down.’”
Thursday Time Waster.
It’s almost the end of the week lets have a little fun. I’m going to start a new Graffiti board with a couple of key shapes. The goal is to create a community piece of art work! Help me finish this.
Here is the Graffiti Board for “Thursday Time Waster“
Jesus questions on Twitter?
Here is a list of questions people are tweeting about Jesus. I pulled this list from Summize a cool application to search twitter space. The below comments/questions are not from me I’m just sharing what others are saying on twitter. Some are good and some not so good.
iPhone or BlackBerry?
What would Jesus use an iPhone or a BlackBerry?
Would Jesus be a touch screen user or a track ball fan?
I think Jesus might use the BlackBerry over the iPhone because of the superior messaging capability of the BB. Chime in I would like to know what you think.
My Graffiti Board
Check out my first experiment with a Graffiti board. It was a lot of fun.
Romans Chapter 2
This posting is part of a Blog Small Group. If you would like to get involved go here. It’s a good way to study scripture and connect with some fellow brothers and sisters on the internet.
I started reading the second chapter in Romans and I couldn’t get any further than the fourth verse. So I did a search through the bible and found some other references that I need to mention. These are by no means all of the references about judging others but these are the ones that are speaking to me. I don’t have much to say about this it’s still soaking in. I will let the scripture below speak for itself.
Matthew 7:1-5
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
Matthew 7:1
“Judge not, that you be not judged.
John 7:24
Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.”
Romans 2:3
Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?
Romans 2:1-3
Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God?
James 4:11
Do not speak evil against one another, brothers. The one who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge.
